Primary Job Purpose:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivering diverse knowledge, understanding, and skills to students in their entirety.

  • Engaging and inspiring students to exceed their expectations and prior accomplishments.
  • Utilizing exceptional subject expertise along with pedagogical and interpersonal skills to motivate students and enrich their learning experience.
  • Fully embracing ICT and emerging technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for students across all ages and achievement levels.
  • Crafting lesson plans that address students’ individual learning requirements, styles, preferences, and capabilities.
  • Encouraging all students to evolve into effective, confident, and independent lifelong learners.
  • Building strong professional relationships with colleagues by contributing to the continuous improvement of the school.
  • Planning and delivering a range of learning opportunities and activities to supplement the taught curriculum.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistent disciplinary practices are maintained in the classroom and throughout the school, including during school outings, while proactively safeguarding students from any form of abuse, including bullying and discriminatory behavior.
  • Maintaining regular, open, and professional communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and successes.
  • Upholding high levels of confidentiality in discussions with parents and external individuals.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic integrity.
  • Actively participating in departmental discussions during meetings.
  • Assisting in organizing and contributing to after-school activities as needed.
  • Supporting the school's community partnerships, including participation in school or community events that may take place on weekends or evenings, such as concerts.
  • Completing any additional responsibilities related to the role as reasonably requested by management.

  • Undertaking any other responsibilities related to the role, as reasonably requested by management.

Person Specification:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Primary Education or a related field, paired with a recognized Teaching Qualification/License.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in recognized school or international school environments is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Exceptional classroom practitioner.
  • Previous successful teaching or lecturing experience.
  • Familiarity with DSIB, OFSTED, or similar school inspection bodies.
  • Experience in an international school context is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current educational research.
  • Understanding of contemporary educational developments in the UAE is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating high professionalism in both written and spoken English.
  • Well-organized and proficient at meeting deadlines.
  • Capable of engaging and motivating others to achieve high performance.
