Contract start date: August 2026
As an Early Years Teacher at WKSK, you will create an inclusive, safe and inspiring learning environment where young children learn through play, exploration, inquiry and meaningful experiences. Working within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), you will nurture children’s curiosity, agency and international-mindedness while collaborating closely with colleagues, families and the wider school community to support the holistic development of every child, ensuring that our young learners develop the foundational skills, understandings and knowledge needed to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom where every child feels safe, respected and able to express their ideas and interests.
Design stimulating, play-based learning environments that promote exploration, independence, creativity, and active engagement.
Interact with children to guide, extend and deepen learning and skills development.
Plan and implement transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry and learning engagements that honour children’s voice, choice and ownership.
Facilitate purposeful play that supports experimentation, risk-taking, self-regulation and social-emotional growth.
Promote international-mindedness and intercultural understanding through everyday practice.
Use effective assessment strategies and pedagogical documentation to capture learning, monitor progress and inform planning.
Provide constructive feedback and individualised support to guide each child’s learning pathway.
Apply positive behaviour strategies to support social skills, emotional regulation and conflict resolution.
Implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to remove barriers and ensure equitable access and participation for all learners.
Build strong partnerships with families through clear, regular communication, parent conferences, workshops and shared celebrations of learning.
Contribute actively to collaborative planning, whole-school initiatives and professional learning communities.
Safeguard and promote children’s welfare in line with school policies and IB ethical expectations.

Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Education (Early Childhood Education), or Bachelor Degree in any subjects with PGCE/PGDE in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent, which qualifies them to teach 3-5 years of age
Experience working with young children (3-5 years old) in an educational environment
