What will be your daily responsibilities?

The chosen candidate will:

  • Have experience in teaching English at the senior school level, with a strong preference for familiarity with IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and curriculum framework.
  • Collaborate on curriculum design, focusing on developing concept-driven units of inquiry that include authentic assessment tasks.
  • Differentiating instruction to cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Employ a constructivist approach to education while encouraging independent learning.
  • Foster international-mindedness and promote service-learning projects.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.
  • Be approachable and present, showing excellent interpersonal abilities and a good sense of humor.
  • Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to contribute to the broader school community.
  • Teach additional subjects as needed based on departmental requirements and the candidate's expertise.

What qualifications should you possess?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience teaching in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP).
  • IGCSE experience is highly valued.
  • Experience in teaching English at the senior school level.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field, along with a valid teaching qualification.
  • Significant international teaching experience.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Preferred: Experience or willingness to teach an additional subject, such as EAL, TOK, or Humanities.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on current educational research.
  • The ability to inspire, challenge, and empower students.
  • Creativity, compassion, and a genuine interest in enhancing student learning.
