Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engaging lesson plans, materials, and content that align with the Saulteaux Curriculum for Yellow Quill First Nation.
- Employ various learning mediums (including digital, visual, and experiential methods) to support different learning styles.
- Create a safe, enriching, and engaging environment where students can flourish and feel valued.
- Carry out initial assessments and conduct both formal and informal evaluations to track student progress.
- Evaluate student performance and prepare reports for parents and colleagues.
- Assess students' assignments, tests, and evaluations, offering constructive feedback while emphasizing strengths to promote growth.
- Maintain clear communication with students, fellow educators, stakeholders, and parents or guardians.
- Apply behavior management techniques, keep behavior records, and monitor student development.
- Stay updated on relevant policies and standards, including child protection and safeguarding.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with peers to enhance educational practices for all students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- Valid Professional “A” Teaching Certificate.
- Strong understanding of Saulteaux Culture is preferred; an eagerness to learn is essential.
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
- A dedication to innovative and adaptive teaching approaches that address diverse student needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with the community.
