The School

For nearly four decades, St. George’s School has been committed to serving the international community in Cologne, providing a rich educational experience within a family-oriented atmosphere. Originally a small school, it has transformed into a vibrant community of approximately 800 students, aged 2-18, representing over 50 nationalities.

Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum, and we offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.

As part of a network of three schools across Germany, St. George’s offers exciting professional development and advancement opportunities for the successful candidate within the school group.

The Location

Located on a newly built campus on the outskirts of Cologne, our school enjoys excellent transport links to the city center and the wider Cologne-Bonn area.

Cologne, the fourth-largest city in Germany, is a dynamic cultural center with a diverse international community. Situated in the heart of Europe, it offers a high quality of life along with numerous opportunities for travel and cultural exploration.

Cologne-Bonn Airport is located just 20km away, providing many daily flights to the UK, while a high-speed rail service connects Cologne to London via Brussels.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the strategic coordination of inclusive, high-quality SEND & EAL services within the Primary School, particularly in the Early Years and Lower Primary sections.

This role entails ensuring that students benefit socially, emotionally, and academically from SEND & EAL services through exemplary teaching practices, accurate identification, assessment, and monitoring, as well as fostering strong partnerships with external organizations.

As the Head of Primary Learning Support, you will work collaboratively to facilitate the professional growth of staff regarding SEND, EAL, and Inclusion, while also enhancing your own expertise in these fields.
