Job Overview
The School Head, under the guidance of the Campus Principal, is responsible for formulating a thorough growth strategy for the school that encompasses both long-term and short-term goals while steering the team toward achieving these aims each academic year. The Head of School will ensure that every staff member is in sync with the school’s vision, mission, and expectations, while also promoting transformation, managing intricate challenges, encouraging innovation, and constantly pursuing improved outcomes. A strong understanding of school budget management is a critical requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver strong leadership and supportive management to the Senior Leadership Team at Adcote Matrix International School.
- Collaborate with the Campus Principal to implement an Internationalised educational philosophy that enhances campus culture, aligns with the school’s strategic direction, motivates existing faculty and staff, and fosters their sense of belonging. Ensure effective communication across the school, facilitating appropriate staff involvement in decision-making processes.
- Work alongside the Campus Principal to apply international best practices to the school’s daily operations.
- Assist the Campus Principal in achieving objectives related to academic management and development, including but not limited to:
- Leading and supporting the school's teaching system, curriculum design, and quality management of teaching, ensuring the effective implementation of best practices in international pedagogy across all educational sectors.
- Overseeing the management of teaching staff across departments, establishing and refining management systems, standards for staff evaluation, and talent development plans.
- Inspire students with vision and enthusiasm, cultivate a supportive school environment by showing genuine interest in their needs, encouraging high standards of behavior through a discipline policy rooted in self-discipline and respect, and addressing disciplinary issues impartially.
- Supervise the advancement of moral education within the school, guiding relevant departments in setting professional and ethical standards for teachers, developing annual work plans, and evaluating the execution of social investigations, practices, sports activities, family education guidance, and home-school communication.
- Participate in and support initiatives to promote the school's brand, student enrollment, and retention efforts, working collaboratively with all departments to meet financial targets established by the school’s organizers.
- Guide and assist the bursar to ensure efficient operations in several areas, including:
- Aiding in the management of human resources, optimizing organizational structure for operational efficiency, establishing human resource protocols, controlling personnel costs, setting performance goals, and overseeing recruitment and talent development.
- Supporting the school's information systems, facility maintenance, campus security, logistics support, and student assistance.
Qualification & Experiences:
- A Master’s degree or recognized postgraduate qualification.
- At least 10 years of experience in teaching, education administration, curriculum development, and assessment practices, including IGCSE and A-level academic management.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and leading a school within a collaborative learning environment.
- Background in teacher evaluation and professional development.
- Experience in curriculum design.
- Familiarity with boarding and pastoral responsibilities, including evening duties and after-school activities, is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of independent school management, particularly concerning instructional practices, school culture, and operations.
- Understanding of the international school application process.
- An appreciation for academic balance across the arts, experiential learning, humanities.
