The Position

The Head of Department will report directly to the Executive Principal through the Academic Management structure.

This role involves leading a team of specialized subject teachers, which is expected to grow significantly as student enrollment increases. The Head of Department will be responsible for the development of the subject across all grade levels within the School. Strong organizational skills are essential, alongside a genuine passion for teaching, innovation, and leading by example. A commitment to employing diverse teaching strategies and aligning with the School's mission and objectives is also vital.

Requirements:

• A high-quality degree primarily focused on the relevant subject;

• A formal teaching qualification is preferred;

• A strong interest in ongoing professional development;

Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in teaching the subject effectively across all age groups from 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), with up-to-date knowledge in the field;

• A strong willingness to support students for whom English is a second language is essential;

• Competence in ICT, with the capacity to swiftly adapt to new procedures and systems, especially the SchoolPal platform, which also functions as our Virtual Learning Environment;

• Strong administrative abilities;

• An active interest in participating in the School's extracurricular programs is highly regarded;

• A willingness to support the Admissions and Marketing teams is crucial;

• Relevant experience in teaching, examining, or the commercial sector will be seen as beneficial.
