GEMS FirstPoint School is excited to announce an opening for an outstanding Assistant Head Teacher (Primary) to join our distinguished Primary leadership team starting in August 2026. This is a remarkable opportunity for leadership within a large, prestigious British curriculum institution, recognized as Outstanding by BSO and Very Good by KHDA. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, advancing curriculum development, and improving student outcomes throughout the Primary phase (EYFS–Year 6). This dynamic leadership position will be tailored to align with the strengths and expertise of the successful applicant. It is ideally suited for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Primary leader eager to effect meaningful change in pedagogy, curriculum, and data-driven school enhancement. The role merges strategic leadership with an active presence in the classroom.

Key Priorities:
Teaching and Learning
• Spearhead and enhance high-quality teaching and learning throughout the Primary phase
• Integrate research-based, evidence-informed practices in classrooms
• Foster adaptive teaching strategies to cater to the diverse needs of all learners
• Promote excellence across all curriculum areas

Curriculum and Innovation
• Engage in the design, review, and refinement of the curriculum for EYFS, KS1, and KS2
• Ensure strong progression, challenge, and alignment with the National Curriculum and MOE subjects
• Assist subject and phase leaders in implementing and evaluating the curriculum's effectiveness

Assessment and Data
• Utilize data and tracking systems to monitor student progress and identify trends
• Lead and facilitate student progress meetings and intervention planning
• Contribute to the strategic development of whole-school assessment, feedback, and reporting frameworks
• Ensure that assessment is effectively utilized to inform teaching and achieve strong student outcomes

Quality Assurance and Accountability
• Oversee, evaluate, and assure the quality of academic provision across the Primary phase
• Conduct learning walks, book reviews, moderation sessions, and professional coaching discussions
• Support and challenge middle leaders to ensure consistently strong performance
• Contribute to the creation and execution of the Primary School Improvement Plan

Staff Development and Culture
• Promote professional growth and instructional coaching within the Primary phase
• Exemplify exceptional classroom practice
• Hold colleagues accountable with clarity, integrity, and professionalism
• Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and ongoing improvement

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
