Cairo English School (CES) is seeking a skilled Assistant Head of Early Years Foundation Stage to join our community in August 2026. About the Role:

At CES, effective leadership goes beyond simple guidance; it entails motivating others, nurturing lasting partnerships, creatively overcoming challenges, and driving change with a novel, visionary perspective. As the Assistant Head of EYFS, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, engaging, and high-achieving environment for our youngest pupils. Your focus will be on supporting their academic and social growth while ensuring smooth transitions from EYFS to Key Stage 1.

Curriculum Overview:

CES adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework 2021, adapted to the unique Egyptian context. We are looking for a leader with a deep understanding of the EYFS framework and a proven track record of implementing it effectively in a diverse international school setting. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a history of outstanding practice, strong leadership abilities, and a knack for building positive relationships with children, staff, and families.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • A solid record of exceptional teaching and innovative curriculum delivery in EYFS.
  • Expertise in creating engaging, high-quality learning environments that foster excellence.
  • Experience in assessing provisions and leveraging data to improve outcomes.
  • Strong engagement with parents, along with effective strategies for home-school collaboration.
  • Successful experience in applying assessment methods that enhance student achievement.
  • The ability to inspire, lead, and motivate both students and staff.

Essential Skills and Knowledge Should Include:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proven ability to raise pupil achievement and behavior standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of how young children learn and thrive in the Early Years.
  • Creativity in implementing a well-rounded, relevant EYFS curriculum.
  • Evidence of inspiring and challenging staff to achieve excellence.
  • A collaborative approach with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Proficient use of ICT and data to strategically enhance learning.
