Aldar Academies is on the lookout for a Teacher - Chemistry to join Bateen World Academy for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Key Responsibilities


• Design and implement exceptional teaching and learning experiences in accordance with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy, including:

• Establishing a supportive and motivating learning environment;

• Defining clear educational objectives for lessons;

• Setting measurable goals based on previous student achievements;

• Recognizing and addressing the needs of SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students through tailored approaches;

• Structuring lessons and activities to ensure engagement and challenge;

• Utilizing assessment for learning effectively;

• Leveraging performance data and key metrics to guide lesson planning and differentiation;

• Integrating ICT to enhance student learning and progression;

• Upholding discipline consistent with the school's 'Behaviour for Learning Policy,' promoting punctuality, positive behavior, and high standards of work and homework;

• Evaluating the attainment of learning objectives to refine teaching practices;

• Grading student work biweekly and establishing targets for improvement in line with the school's Marking Policy;

• Systematically assessing and documenting students' progress, using data to inform instructional strategies;

• Conducting student assessments as required by examination bodies and school protocols;

• Preparing and delivering insightful reports to parents;

• Participating in and supporting events for parents and students;

• Contributing to curriculum development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work;

• Keeping subject knowledge current through continuous professional development and independent study;

• Engaging in the school's CAS Programme by leading or supporting an after-school activity each term (excludes I/GCSE and IB DP Revision/Booster Sessions);

• Serving as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13 students;

• Performing duties as assigned in the staff duty rota;

• Providing coverage for absent colleagues;

• Supervising examinations as needed to assist the Examinations Officer during the Summer Examination Schedule;

• Carrying out any other tasks as directed by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject along with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience

• A minimum of two years of teaching experience.

• Exceptional teaching abilities;

• Experience teaching a diverse range of students with proven success;

• Background in multiple International Schools;

• Familiarity with teaching IB and I/GCSE curricula;

• Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations;

• Dedication to the school's vision along with the IB Philosophy and Mission Statement;

• A passion for education and a belief in the potential of every student;

• Capability to thrive under pressure, solve problems, handle challenging situations, and demonstrate resilience;

• Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD);

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
