Collaboration is essential; thus, the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams—including university counsellors, classroom teachers, advisors, counsellors, learning support staff, and the Secondary Leadership Team—is vital. A proactive attitude, commitment, and a positive demeanor are highly prized. An interest in learning about other international university systems in the future would be advantageous. Proficiency in both English and Thai is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A dedication to crafting a Thai university counselling program designed for high school students.
  • Assisting students and families throughout the entire Thai university application process.
  • Organizing information sessions for parents across various year levels throughout the year, including presentations, workshops, and newsletters, during both daytime and evening hours.
  • Keeping current on Thai university admission procedures, trends, and testing, and relaying pertinent information to students and parents in a timely manner.
  • Meeting with individual students to explore their interests and possible university pathways in Thailand.
  • Counselling, supporting, and guiding students through the university research process.
  • Creating a welcoming university counselling environment that encourages students to explore their options and discover the best fit for their ambitions.
  • Assisting students in developing strong portfolios to reach their aspirational yet achievable university goals.
  • Providing support as students compose essays and personal statements to meet admission requirements and deadlines.
  • Collaborating closely with fellow university counsellors to help students maintain realistic expectations.
  • Ensuring the quality of teacher references and composing impactful letters of recommendation.
  • Engaging with students and their parents to discuss course selections, facilitating informed choices.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding student and family information.
  • Building strong and positive relationships with admissions offices at Thai universities.
  • Contributing to the creation of an excellent, user-friendly Thai university counselling website.
  • Continuing to enhance the success of the school's university fair.
  • Staying informed about developments and trends in the Thai university admissions sector.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Ensuring that university counselling processes and practices resonate well with Thai families.
  • Being approachable and supportive while ensuring students fulfill their expectations.
  • Being prepared to participate in the school’s Action Week and other related initiatives.
  • Performing duties in alignment with NIST’s Professional and Child Safeguarding Codes of Conduct.
  • Contributing to the school community, upholding professional standards, and fostering trust.
