About This Role
The Dean Trust is excited to announce an opening for a passionate and skilled Teacher of Science (MAT Cover) to become a part of our committed team at Dean Trust Ardwick.
The primary focus of this position is to deliver Science instruction across the entire age and ability spectrum.
Key responsibilities include:
● Embracing and promoting the School’s vision, values, and core mission.
● Designing lessons that facilitate progression in students’ learning.
● Establishing high standards for student behavior and maintaining effective discipline through focused teaching and fostering positive relationships.
● Implementing a variety of teaching techniques, including ICT, that sustain student engagement and drive their work forward.
● Utilizing assessment data effectively to inform lesson planning and optimize student progress.
● Evaluating and providing constructive feedback on students’ classwork and homework, while maintaining accurate records and setting suitable targets to enhance progress.
● Developing, assessing, and refining schemes of work across all Key Stages.
● Being well-versed in statutory assessment and reporting obligations, and preparing information reports for parents.
● Understanding the Code of Practice regarding the identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs, and maintaining records of Individual Education Plans for students when necessary.
● Engaging in critical self-evaluation of teaching practices to enhance effectiveness.
● Actively participating in meetings and progress evenings as required.
● Contributing to activities outlined in the Faculty Improvement Plan.
● Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of a form tutor.
● Assisting in the planning and implementation of broader curricular activities.
