Akademeia High School is an academically-selective institution located in Warsaw, providing IGCSEs and A Levels in addition to Akademeia Assessed Courses. Most of our students aim for admission to prestigious universities such as Oxbridge, Russell Group, and Ivy League schools, as well as renowned architecture, art, and music institutions. Our rigorous admissions process and A Level classes structured as undergraduate seminars reflect our pre-university model. The school features a comprehensive scholarship program, with 10% of placements reserved for merit-based, full, and partial scholarships. About the job:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most intellectually curious young minds and inspire them through engaging and innovative lessons in small class sizes of up to 12 students.
You will be joining a committed team of 10 passionate mathematicians who regularly collaborate to share resources and strategies aimed at enhancing student engagement. Our focus on a student-centered approach cultivates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, equipping students for academic achievement and lifelong learning.
Our Mathematics department is vibrant, offering regular CPD workshops and departmental meetings. We value diverse teaching methodologies and actively promote peer-to-peer learning through lesson observations and constructive feedback. We adhere to the Pearson International GCSE and A Level curricula, and in Year 11, we also offer GCSE Statistics and a pre-A Level program, created by our team to ensure students are fully prepared for A Levels.
As the largest department within the school, we consistently attain exceptional results. In 2023, one of our students achieved the Highest Mark in the world for the International A Level in Mathematics, and in 2024, another received a perfect score of 200/200 on the iGCSE. Many of our graduates proceed to study at esteemed universities such as Warwick University (Mathematics), Imperial College (Mathematics and Engineering), LSE (Mathematics), Oxford University (Engineering), and Princeton and MIT (Engineering). We also encourage participation in prestigious mathematics competitions like the UKMT and the British Mathematical Olympiad, where our students frequently earn gold medals and merit awards.
About you:

The full-time teaching commitment consists of 20 hours of instruction each week, with ample time allocated within the timetable for effective preparation, marking, and report writing. Teachers are expected to either engage in pastoral care (tutoring a small group) or support student clubs and co-curricular activities. The standard school week runs from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend events (e.g., open days, school trips) that teachers may be required to attend.
