Inspire the Next Generation at Wadebridge School
We are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of digital innovators, creative thinkers, and entrepreneurs. We are in search of a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of Computing, iMedia, and Enterprise to join our well-equipped and thriving team, helping to realize this vision within our successful and supportive school environment.
This position is open to both experienced educators and early career teachers (ECT).
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate teacher, whether seasoned or newly qualified, who can deliver engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, primarily focusing on KS3 Computing, with additional opportunities to teach computing, iMedia, and Enterprise. You will be instrumental in supporting our ambitious curriculum, ensuring that every student is challenged, motivated, and actively engaged.
At the KS3 level, all students engage with a comprehensive study program that includes Computing, iMedia, and Business components. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across all three areas, aiming to inspire and challenge students through creative and engaging instruction. You will guide students in navigating the ever-evolving world of computing, encompassing physical computing, programming, digital media, enterprise, and marketing concepts. The role requires you to confidently and effectively integrate new technologies and industry trends into your lessons, fostering a culture of curiosity, resilience, and a passion for learning. Collaboration with colleagues to develop and enhance teaching resources will also be expected.
The Computing department is well-equipped, featuring seven dedicated IT rooms throughout the school. While these rooms are scheduled for lessons, they also serve as resources for various departments within the school. At the KS4 level, students currently have the option to pursue OCR J277 Computer Science, OCR J834 Creative iMedia, or OCR J837 Enterprise and Marketing.
The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm and confidence in delivering lessons in computing and digital media, with a willingness to adopt innovative teaching practices and keep pace with evolving technologies. They should have a solid grasp of physical computing, enterprise, and digital marketing concepts, and be capable of challenging and supporting students of diverse abilities to ensure that each reaches their full potential.
