Job overview

A’soud Global School (AGS) Salalah is looking for a dedicated, skilled, and enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher to become a part of our ambitious and nurturing secondary team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to teach English throughout the secondary phase and to contribute to an institution that prioritizes literacy, communication, and student success.

Become a member of a flourishing international school situated in the picturesque Dhofar region of Oman. At AGS Salalah, we integrate the Cambridge International Curriculum with a robust culture of care, curiosity, and high standards. We seek an inspiring and reflective educator who fosters a passion for language and literature, encouraging every student to achieve their fullest potential.

Who are we?

AGS Salalah is a dynamic international school located in southern Oman’s Dhofar region. We currently cater to students from KG1 to Year 10, with established IGCSE pathways, and we are experiencing an exciting period of growth in both primary and secondary education.

We adhere to the esteemed Cambridge International Curriculum, which empowers students to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, along with critical thinking, creativity, and positive values.

Central to our ethos is a strong partnership with parents and the broader community. We believe that learning flourishes through collaboration, and we place significant importance on nurturing open and trusting relationships that support each student’s growth and wellbeing.

Our learning environment features purpose-built facilities, including spacious classrooms and specialized areas for music, drama, ICT, art, and science, in addition to swimming pools, multi-sport courts, and an indoor sports hall.

Our vision is straightforward: to ensure that every child reaches their highest potential, supported by staff who uphold high expectations, warmth, and a sincere belief in each student’s capabilities.

Life in Salalah

Salalah, located on Oman’s southern coast, offers a unique combination of stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural experiences. Renowned for its Khareef season, beautiful beaches, and mountains, it provides an excellent lifestyle for those in search of both adventure and peace. The city boasts a growing expatriate community, good amenities, and convenient connections to Muscat and Dubai.

What we are looking for

We are in search of teachers who will make a positive impact on our secondary phase and the wider school community. The successful applicant will:

  • Maintain consistently high expectations for all students and believe in their potential.
  • Exhibit motivation, confidence, adaptability, and resilience, with a strong dedication to international education.
  • Show robust subject knowledge in English Language and Literature, with experience teaching secondary-age students. Teaching A Level or IGCSE English Literature would be advantageous.
  • Have experience with the Cambridge curriculum, including IGCSE English, or be willing to develop this knowledge.

  • Utilize assessment data to track progress, inform planning, and support targeted interventions effectively.
  • Be proficient in using digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Foster a purposeful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and high standards.
  • Actively contribute to the school's 'one team' ethos through collaboration and professional transparency.
  • Work closely with parents to support student progress and achievement.
  • Engage enthusiastically in extra-curricular activities such as reading clubs, debating, drama, or writing.
