ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Berens River School serves students from Nursery through Grade 9, with an enrollment of approximately 400 students. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, the town of Berens River has a population of around 3,546 and is about a four-hour drive north of Winnipeg. This charming lakeside community offers amenities including a general store, a Northern store, and a community hall. The surrounding area is rich in recreational activities, such as fishing, hiking, and canoeing.

WHAT YOU BRING
• A Bachelor of Education Degree, preferably supplemented by a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field, along with a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• A Manitoba Inclusive Education Teaching certificate or evidence of progress towards obtaining one.
• Prior experience in the role of Resource Teacher.
• In-depth knowledge of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instructional techniques.
• Training and proficiency in both formal and informal assessment strategies.
• Familiarity with appropriate educational programming.
• An understanding of the Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset).
• Experience living in a northern community (considered an asset).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
