Role Overview:
We are in search of an enthusiastic and inspiring Physical Education Teacher (Rugby Specialist) to join our Prep or Senior School team, teaching students from Years 9 to 13. The successful applicant may also take on the responsibilities of Form Tutor.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a high-quality PE program, instill a love for sport and fitness, and contribute to the broader school community. Leadership roles may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning
• Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons tailored to the needs of all students.
• Foster a culture of high expectations and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum and develop schemes of work.
• Provide academic and physical support to students, including preparation for assessments as required.
• Set challenging learning and developmental objectives using varied strategies, resources, and technologies.
• Offer consistent feedback and motivate students to utilize it.

Pastoral and Wider School Life
• Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties as needed.
• Participate in assemblies, departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events.
• Act as a positive role model, upholding the school’s ethos and reputation.
• Lead or participate in extra-curricular activities, sports teams, and school events.

Curriculum Development
• Create high-quality, innovative, and inclusive PE activities.
• Assist in sourcing and managing teaching resources.
• Ensure continuity and progression across year groups.
• Analyze student performance data to promote exceptional progress.
• Regularly reflect on personal practice and engage in ongoing professional development.

Person Specification
(Essential=E, Desirable=D)
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent. (E)
• In-depth subject knowledge in Physical Education. (E)
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience. (E)
• A good degree from a recognized university. (E)
• PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent teaching qualification. (E)
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills. (E)
• Ability to motivate students and foster a love for sport and learning. (E)
• Willingness to participate in all aspects of school life. (E)
• Experience teaching students with English as an Additional Language (EAL). (D)
• Background in the independent school sector. (D)
• Emerging leadership qualities with potential for future roles. (D)
