Job Purpose

The primary aim is to organize and deliver academic, personal, social, and emotional counseling for students.

Job Scope

You will hold the overall responsibility for creating and executing a counseling program that aligns with the needs of both the school and its students, enabling them to thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote the ethos and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Set up procedures and timelines to offer students counseling in academic, personal, social, emotional, and psychological areas.
  • Manage the transition process for students.
  • Establish protocols for obtaining external support for students facing personal challenges and emotional concerns.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to create experiences and activities that foster holistic development in students, encouraging responsibility, leadership, cooperation, and other personal and social skills.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of student progress, achievements, activities, and interests, while tracking student development through all available data and evidence.
  • Develop proactive guidelines and procedures to address bullying effectively.
  • Establish and oversee appropriate testing programs to assess student aptitude and achievement.
  • Create systems to promptly inform parents about issues related to class performance, school work, or behavioral challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
  • Dedicate effort and energy beyond standard working hours when tasks require additional commitment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as needed.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as requested by direct and dotted line managers or supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
