About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Deliver the prescribed curriculum, showcasing a comprehensive and current understanding of both curriculum content and subject matter.
* Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom setups to accommodate diverse learning styles.
* Provide written documentation of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain organized records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment strategies.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Instruct students based on their individual requirements, employing teaching methods that address various needs and abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic performance, and those who are gifted and talented.
* Assign and evaluate student work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic progress and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to individual needs.
* Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom.
* Support students' overall development and well-being, providing educational guidance.
* Communicate with external parties, such as Ministry of Education representatives, when necessary.
* Engage in appraisal and Performance Management processes and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues in creating and refining teaching materials, resources, course content, and pastoral support systems.
* Participate in, and take the lead in when appropriate, the school's co-curricular and extracurricular programs. Foster positive working relationships through active leadership and the sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Oversee and ensure safe, appropriate student behavior. Develop and implement strategies to promote self-discipline and manage disruptive conduct.
* Exemplify and promote cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in the planning and organization of school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies.
* Regularly communicate with parents, advocating for the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents updated on their children's progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student information.
* Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond standard working hours when tasks necessitate additional effort.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
