Position Overview

ULIS is seeking an inspiring and experienced IB Mathematics & IB Economics Teacher to join the Secondary School team. The ideal candidate fosters meaningful student relationships, embraces concept-driven and inquiry-based teaching, and is committed to delivering high-quality international education within a diverse, multicultural environment.

The role includes teaching IB DP Mathematics (AA SL, AI SL, or AA HL) and IB DP Economics (IB2), including Internal Assessment support, exam preparation, and may involve additional teaching responsibilities across Middle or High School levels depending on timetabling.

Key responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality IB Mathematics and IB Economics lessons using inquiry-based, concept-driven, and constructivist approaches.

  • Provide structured support for IB Economics Internal Assessments (commentaries) and targeted exam preparation.

  • Design, develop, and refine curriculum materials that integrate global perspectives and meet IB expectations.

  • Use diverse teaching methodologies to address different learning styles and abilities within a multicultural student body.

  • Incorporate technology seamlessly into instruction to support personalized and enhanced learning.

Assessment & Feedback

  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria.

  • Track student progress, contribute to academic monitoring and intervention systems.

  • Provide timely, clear, and constructive feedback to students and families via school platforms such as ManageBac.

  • Contribute to predicted grade processes and examination preparation strategies.

 

Classroom Culture & Pastoral Care

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters a love of learning and celebrates diversity.

  • Act as a mentor or tutor supporting students’ academic and personal development.

  • Uphold ULIS’s commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and ethical conduct.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and interdisciplinary educational experience.

  • Participate in schoolwide initiatives, committees, and co-curricular activities.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with IB standards and best practices in Mathematics and Economics education.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, or a closely related field.

  • Recognized teaching certification.

  • Proven experience teaching IB Mathematics and/or IB Economics; experience with both subjects preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Strong English proficiency (ULIS instructional language).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to curriculum development and intervention support for students.
