For the year 2026 (or an earlier start by mutual agreement), Ballarat Clarendon College is on the lookout for History teachers. Teachers from other disciplines who are interested in joining Clarendon are also welcome to apply. The salary will align with the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience, based on Levels 1-13 of the Ballarat Clarendon College Enterprise Agreement teaching scale ($84,071-$126,114).

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held in London from April 4 to 8, 2025, by arrangement.

Ballarat Clarendon College is a co-educational institution catering to both day and boarding students, with approximately 2,000 learners ranging from 3-year-old Early Learning to Year 12. Located in Ballarat, a regional city in the heart of Victoria just 75 minutes from Melbourne, the school features a captivating blend of historic buildings and architecturally impressive purpose-built facilities. Ballarat boasts a growing population of around 120,000, thriving in art, culture, food, and music, set against an iconic historical backdrop.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (UK applicants must possess a PGCE)
  • Strong comprehension of the curriculum, including the Child Safe Standards
  • Capability to effectively plan and design lessons
  • Commitment to and understanding of various assessment tools and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of subject curriculum, study designs, and assessment criteria
  • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback to students
  • Solid understanding of data analysis in relation to student progress and teaching efficacy
  • Commitment to continuous improvement both in and out of the classroom
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Capacity to engage positively and appropriately with all members of the Ballarat Clarendon College community
  • Previous experience in a team-oriented environment with a focus on success and outcomes
  • Proficient in the use of information technology.
