About This Role

GIS is seeking an exceptional leader to develop a vibrant, impactful, and sustainable co-curricular program that enhances the educational journey of all students at GIS.

The Head of Co-Curricular Activities will be responsible for guiding and ensuring the excellence of our co-curricular efforts, aligning them with our vision, mission, and values. This position necessitates cultivating strong relationships within the school community and with external partners to expand our student offerings.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head of Co-Curricular Activities will:

  • Design and implement an inspiring strategic vision for a top-tier co-curricular program.
  • Create a well-rounded and diverse range of extracurricular activities across various fields that deliver inclusive and enriching experiences for students.
  • Manage the scheduling and staffing of co-curricular programs.
  • Set up a calendar for program scheduling to ensure effective coordination throughout the school.
  • Oversee the daily operations and activities of programs and facilities.
  • Manage co-curricular budgets in all areas and work alongside the finance and purchasing teams during this process.
  • Lead budget preparation to ensure that programs receive the necessary support and resources.
  • Foster opportunities for all staff to positively influence the broader life of the school.
  • Assess provisions to guarantee that the program addresses the needs of all students, reflecting the school’s dedication to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
  • Supervise the recruitment of external providers involved in delivering the co-curricular program.
  • Establish an effective communication process with parents, students, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and conduct risk assessments to maintain appropriate care for all students.
  • Develop, update, and refine rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the daily management of co-curricular activities.
  • Verify that all vendors adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and protocols.
  • Be proficient in using the management system for delivering the co-curricular program.
  • Monitor and evaluate co-curricular activities to ensure high-quality provision.
  • Engage in collaborative evaluative practices to share insights.
  • Organize relevant professional development for staff involved in the co-curricular program to further enhance their skills.
  • Oversee the appraisal processes, leave, and logistics for the CCA team.
  • Recognize, celebrate, and communicate students’ achievements in co-curricular activities tied to the GIS Learner Skills.
  • Actively participate in building networks and partnerships with associations and organizations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support school goals.
  • Promote and highlight the CCAs through parent presentations, community workshops, and public engagement to boost participation, understanding, and support for the school’s wider learning opportunities.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
