For the 2026 academic year (or potentially earlier by mutual agreement), Ballarat Clarendon College is on the lookout for French teachers. We also welcome applications from educators in other subject areas who are interested in joining our team. The salary will be aligned with the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience, based on Levels 1-13 of the Ballarat Clarendon College Enterprise Agreement teaching scale ($84,071-$126,114).

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place in London from April 4 to April 8, 2025, by appointment.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Ballarat Clarendon College caters to both day and boarding students, serving approximately 2,000 learners from 3-year-old Early Learning through Year 12. Our campus features a remarkable blend of heritage architecture and modern, purpose-built facilities, located in Ballarat, a regional city in the heart of Victoria, just 75 minutes from Melbourne. With a population of around 120,000 and a vibrant mix of arts, culture, cuisine, and music, Ballarat is set against a rich historical backdrop.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Suitable tertiary qualifications (UK applicants must possess a PGCE)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the curriculum, including Child Safe Standards
  • Ability to effectively plan and design engaging lessons
  • Commitment to and knowledge of various assessment tools and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of subject curriculum, study designs, and assessment criteria
  • Proven capability to provide constructive feedback to students
  • Strong understanding of how to analyze data concerning student progress and teaching effectiveness
  • Commitment to ongoing improvement both in and out of the classroom
  • Proven ability to manage time and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to engage positively and appropriately with all members of the Ballarat Clarendon College community
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team-focused environment with an emphasis on success and outcomes
  • Proficient in using information technology.
