Position Overview:

• Possess a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and principles, with the ability to instruct students aged 11 to 18 across a range of skill levels.
• Experience with the IBMYP and IBDP curricula is beneficial, although a robust background in similar educational frameworks (such as A-level or Senior Secondary) is also valuable.
• Foster inquiry and critical thinking within the mathematics classroom, promoting a deep comprehension of mathematical principles.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to develop engaging and effective teaching materials and strategies that enhance student learning experiences.
• Flourish in a collaborative environment with committed educators, sharing insights and best practices to enrich the educational experience.
• Show empathy for students’ educational journeys, appreciating their perspectives and encouraging them to take ownership of their mathematical learning.
• Willingness to participate in professional development and training on new curricula and teaching methodologies, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Keen to explore innovative teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student engagement and success in mathematics.
• Display a genuine passion for mathematics that motivates students and helps them develop an appreciation for the subject.
• Aim to harness the skills and aspirations of students, guiding them toward excellence in their mathematical endeavors.

General Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any field with a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE).
• Familiarity with the MYP and key aspects of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous.
• Open to applications from newly qualified teachers as well as those with prior teaching experience at a recognized educational institution.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not meet the requirements for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is necessary for teaching at an ESF school.
