About This Role

EAL Teacher

Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba is seeking an outstanding, dedicated, and experienced English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to join our vibrant primary school community starting in August 2026.

The successful candidate will work with students aged 4 to 11, offering support to learners at different stages of English language acquisition, helping them develop the linguistic confidence and academic language required for success within the British Curriculum.

This role includes providing targeted instruction to individuals and small groups to improve oral language abilities, academic vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written expression, enabling students to fully engage with the curriculum and the wider school community. The position may also involve supporting students in their preparation for Cambridge English assessments and IELTS, when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Deliver high-quality EAL support through focused instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings
  • Assist students in acquiring the academic language essential for navigating the British Curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to enhance learning experiences and adapt teaching methods
  • Monitor student progress and implement interventions to accelerate language acquisition
  • Contribute to the development of the Primary EAL program at the school
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes high expectations, curiosity, and respect
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant university degree
  • A recognized teaching qualification
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Experience supporting EAL learners in a primary education setting
  • A strong understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL practices
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced international school environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A reflective and innovative approach to teaching and learning
