About This Role

Leadership and Management Support the school’s vision, ethos, and strategic direction by actively promoting these values. Play a role in implementing and assessing the School Development Plan related to your responsibilities. Provide assistance, support, and act as a deputy for the Head of School as needed. Ensure that inclusive practices are integrated throughout the curriculum and pastoral care. Translate school policies into actionable practices, identifying areas for review or enhancement and reporting findings to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Lead certain elements of the school self-evaluation process, including conducting lesson observations, monitoring educational standards, and fostering improvements. Contribute to the creation of self-evaluation and policy documentation. Manage student transitions effectively within and across different phases. Encourage and develop cross-curricular teaching and learning methods. Serve as an active and effective member of the leadership team. Exemplify exceptional teaching, behavior management, and professional standards.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities Uphold all class teacher responsibilities to a high standard. Lead key school initiatives and participate in whole-school improvement efforts. Take charge of curriculum design and implementation, ensuring continuity, progression, balance, and challenge for all students. Facilitate regular meetings with relevant staff members. Develop and promote effective teaching strategies that cater to a diverse range of ages and abilities.

Monitoring and Assessment Collaborate with the SLT to analyze data, track student progress, and inform planning and goal setting. Monitor educational standards through work scrutiny, lesson observations, and quality assurance processes. Review long- and medium-term planning to ensure consistency and high quality.

Resource Management Organize, plan, and evaluate programs within your area of responsibility. Oversee and assess the effective use of resources to maximize their impact on learning.

Staff Development Participate in the staff appraisal process as a reviewer when appropriate. Identify training needs and support professional development within your team. Serve as a mentor or coach, fostering collaboration and teamwork. Stay updated on current developments and share best practices with colleagues.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
