About This Role

We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Curriculum Leader of Maths to become part of our exceptional team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA).

This is a full-time, permanent role on Teaching terms, offering a salary on the MPS–UPS scale, alongside a TLR 1.3 allowance of £14,864, commencing in September 2026.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher who is eligible to work in the UK, ready to assume a pivotal leadership position and enhance curriculum outcomes.

As an outstanding classroom practitioner with proven success in the 11–16 age range, you will consistently deliver good or outstanding lessons. You will possess a deep understanding of Mathematics and stay informed about current curriculum developments.

- Exhibit strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Main Purpose of the Job:
This role represents a middle leadership position. Alongside the general responsibilities of classroom teachers, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and management of the Maths curriculum, fostering excellence in teaching and ensuring accelerated progress for all students.

The individual will report to a Senior Leader and will be instrumental in enhancing teaching quality, curriculum development, and student outcomes within the department.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Leading, managing, and developing the Maths curriculum across the Academy to ensure high-quality teaching and favorable student outcomes.
- Creating a shared vision among the team that aligns with whole-school goals, while motivating and inspiring colleagues.
- Evaluating the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations and other methods, implementing improvements as needed.
- Spearheading intervention strategies to enhance attainment and accelerate progress.
- Regularly reviewing and embedding the department's aims and objectives in practice.
- Effectively managing departmental resources and budget to maximize impact and value.
- Supporting the professional development and performance management of departmental staff.
- Collaborating with other curriculum areas to promote cross-curricular learning and overall school improvement.
- Encouraging a rich array of enrichment and extracurricular opportunities within the subject area.
