THE ACADEMY

GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private co-educational IB World School, catering to students from PreK through Grade 12. Founded in 2008, it operates under the GEMS Education group and is authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes. THE ROLE

The Business department at GEMS World Academy has successfully enhanced student outcomes and instilled a passion for learning. SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effective teaching and promoting student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes is beneficial, we welcome exceptional educators from various curriculum backgrounds to apply. A dedication to the IB philosophy and alignment with the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine enthusiasm for engaging with a non-selective, culturally diverse community is also essential. Additionally, applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Business
• Advanced qualifications are advantageous but not required
• A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Business, ideally in an IB curriculum school, though this is not mandatory
• Proven experience in teaching BTEC Business
• A solid understanding of the IB MYP & DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
• A strong commitment to continually improving their teaching practice and providing outstanding learning experiences for students
• The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that align with the expectations of a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
• Availability starting August 2026
