About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

St. George’s International School, located in Clarens on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland, is a leading international school offering a broad and balanced education to students aged 3–18 within a diverse and multicultural community.

We are currently seeking an English Teacher to join our Middle and Senior School. The successful candidate will teach one or more of the following programmes: A Level English Literature, IB English A or B, and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language). The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress and contributing to the wider life of the school.

Full-time or part-time applications will be considered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language).

  • Be willing to teach an additional subject such as Global Perspectives or ToK.

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that supports strong student progress and achievement.

  • Maintain high expectations for students and contribute to a positive learning environment.

  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and write student reports in line with school policies.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and teaching strategies.

  • Provide class cover when necessary.

  • Act as a positive role model and uphold school values and expectations.

  • Contribute to the school community through tutoring and pastoral support.

  • Work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Proven experience teaching A Level English Literature, IB English A/B and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language).

  • University degree and recognised teaching qualification.

  • Strong understanding of English language curricula and ability to deliver engaging lessons.

  • Excellent planning, assessment and feedback skills, with confidence using ICT in teaching.

  • Ability to set clear expectations and support student progress and achievement.

  • Experience teaching Middle and Senior School students (10–18 years).

  • Genuine commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.

  • Dynamic and adaptable professional with a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • C2-level English proficiency (or native equivalent).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
