We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated Psychology teacher capable of teaching sociology at the secondary level to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for instructing students across various age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level classes.

This position is part of our strategic expansion to accommodate growing student enrollment and program interest.

General Professional Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a teacher will encompass the following duties:


Delivering lessons, which includes planning and preparing courses, setting and grading assignments, and assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and achievement in accordance with the school’s standards and policies.


Utilizing data to enhance classroom instruction, monitoring and tracking student progress while implementing timely interventions as needed.


Preparing students for public examinations, assessing their performance, documenting these assessments, and participating in meetings related to the conduct of public examinations.


Engaging in communication and consultation with parents of students, which includes writing reports.


Attending Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.


Maintaining discipline and a positive learning environment among the students taught.


Participating in departmental meetings and Open Evenings.


Collaborating with colleagues to shape departmental policies and practices, introduce curricular initiatives, and prepare and develop study programs and assessment methods.


Assisting with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.


Staying current with curriculum innovations, participating in professional development opportunities, and contributing to personal professional growth.


Working collaboratively with support teachers in the classroom.


Taking responsibility for mentoring a beginning teacher managing their own class, if appropriate.


Setting assignments for classes when prior absences are anticipated and providing work for absent colleagues as needed.


Overseeing a designated area of the curriculum, administration, or a specific project.


Completing additional tasks as reasonably directed by the Head of Department.


Becoming familiar with the DSIB inspection framework and the expectations for outstanding teaching and learning within the UAE.


Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, the successful applicant must:


Hold relevant qualifications.


Have experience teaching in schools following the British Curriculum, specifically with IGCSE and A-Level instruction.


Exhibit a genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire students.


Possess a solid understanding of assessment and examination criteria for KS3, KS4, and KS5.


Demonstrate excellence in teaching, showcasing effective practices and positive student progress.


Collaborate effectively within a team.


Remain informed about developments in their subject area.


Show a willingness to pursue professional development, seeking training opportunities for career advancement within the department or externally.

Safa Community School salary scale. Housing, medical insurance, free child place, visa, flight and generous salary packages. Salary dependent on experience.
