We are actively seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Geography specialist (secondary school) to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be expected to teach students across various age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level courses.

This position is part of our strategic expansion to accommodate the growing student enrollment and program demand.

General Professional Responsibilities

The role of a teacher encompasses the following professional duties:


Delivering lessons, which includes course planning and preparation, assigning and grading work, and assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress and attainment in accordance with school policies.


Utilizing data to guide classroom instruction, monitoring student progress, and implementing timely interventions.


Preparing students for public examinations, assessing them for these evaluations, documenting and reporting on such assessments, and participating in meetings related to public examination procedures.


Engaging in communication and consultation with students' parents, including report writing.


Attending Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.


Maintaining discipline and order among the students in your charge.


Participating in departmental meetings and Open Evenings.


Collaborating with team members to shape departmental policies and practices, initiate curricular improvements, and develop study programs and teaching and assessment methods.


Contributing to administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.


Staying informed about curriculum innovations, engaging in CPD arrangements, and contributing to personal professional development.


Working in partnership with support teachers within the classroom.


Assuming responsibility for monitoring and supporting a beginning teacher, if appropriate.


Preparing assignments for your classes during any planned absences and setting work for absent colleagues when necessary.


Overseeing a designated aspect of the curriculum, administration, or a specific project.


Carrying out additional tasks as reasonably directed by the Head of Department.


Acquainting yourself with the DSIB inspection framework and the standards for outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE.


Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate must:


Hold relevant qualifications.


Possess experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, specifically in IGCSE and A-Level courses.


Demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject and effectively communicate this passion to students.


Understand assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.


Be an exemplary teacher capable of showcasing outstanding practice and student progress.


Collaborate effectively as part of a team.


Stay updated with developments in their subject area.


Exhibit a desire for professional growth and actively seek training opportunities within the department or externally.

Safa Community School salary scale. Housing, medical insurance, free child place, visa, flight and generous salary packages. Salary dependent on experience.
