About you:

We are looking for a remarkable and inspiring Head of Faculty – PE, Sports & Games (Whole School – Academics) to lead our department and elevate excellence across all key stages. This role encompasses both teaching and middle leadership, with the successful candidate expected to maintain active teaching responsibilities in Physical Education, Sport, and Games, delivering high-quality practical and theoretical lessons.

We seek candidates with the following attributes:

A dynamic, enthusiastic, and well-qualified individual holding at least a B.Ed. or a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related discipline, along with a PGCE (or equivalent) and QTS.

A proven history of outstanding teaching and learning in PE, Sports & Games, demonstrating strong student outcomes across key stages.

The capability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with an active teaching schedule, exemplifying outstanding practices in both practical and classroom-based PE lessons.

The ability to provide clear strategic direction for the PE, Sports & Games faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, participation, and achievement across all phases.

Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of PE and Sports staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and accountable culture.

A commitment to promoting a culture of excellence in physical activity, sport, and wellbeing, encouraging participation, performance, and healthy lifestyles among all students.
