About This Role
The Primary Homeroom Teacher will be instrumental in cultivating and sustaining a classroom atmosphere that encourages the comprehensive development of students. This role encompasses the planning, instruction, and learning processes within the designated year groups, with a commitment to upholding exemplary standards in the classroom. The homeroom teacher will engage collaboratively across departments and strive for ongoing enhancements throughout the curriculum.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish a motivating and nurturing learning environment that promotes student growth
• Ensure creativity and maintain high standards in both teaching and learning
• Share responsibility for the design, development, and improvement of the curriculum
• Actively engage in school events and activities
• Maintain consistency with the Primary curriculum and interdisciplinary approaches in daily instruction
• Optimize opportunities for curriculum enhancement through the design and implementation of activities both inside and outside the classroom, such as inviting guest speakers and organizing field trips
• Create a classroom atmosphere and foster relationships with parents that demonstrate a commitment to the social and academic well-being of each student
• Attend to the pastoral needs of all students
REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject area
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., M.Ed., iPGCE, QTS/iQTS)
• Preferably two years of full-time classroom teaching experience in the mainstream education sector
• Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is advantageous, particularly in an international education setting
• A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the pastoral care of students
• A willingness to actively participate in academic enrichment and extracurricular activities
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
• A dedication to upholding and enhancing high standards in teaching and learning.
