THE ACADEMY
GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private co-educational IB World School catering to students from PreK to Grade 12. Founded in 2008 under the GEMS Education umbrella, GWA is authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes, and holds accreditation from both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE ROLE
Our Mathematics department has successfully transformed student outcomes and fostered a passion for learning at GEMS World Academy. This achievement stems from the commitment of our staff, their exceptional expertise, and the department’s innovative approach to data and curriculum. The Mathematics department is highly esteemed by our students for the personalized care and support it provides.
We invite applications from enthusiastic MYP Mathematics educators who feel that their skills, experience, and values resonate with GEMS World Academy’s mission of cultivating a love for learning, with positions available starting August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of effective teaching and facilitating student success. While familiarity with the IB Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme is preferred, we encourage outstanding educators from any curriculum background to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and a commitment to the values of the Learner Profile are essential. A sincere passion for working in a culturally rich, non-selective community is also a key requirement. Additionally, candidates should have:
• A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent specialization in Mathematics.
• Advanced qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Mathematics, preferably in an IB curriculum environment, though this is not a strict requirement.
• A solid understanding of the IB MYP framework and Approaches to Teaching is advantageous.
• A strong motivation to continuously enhance their teaching practices and deliver exceptional learning experiences for students.
• The experience, character, and educational philosophy that aligns with a premier IB World School like GEMS World Academy.
• Availability starting August 2026.

NEXT STEPS
