Scope of Responsibility

The teacher's role is essential in providing high-quality instruction and fostering both the academic and personal growth of students. Major Duties:
Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive conduct of all stakeholders.
• Operate in accordance with GUIS's safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
In line with teaching standards pertinent to ULC, teachers are expected to:
• Design and deliver well-organized, engaging lessons.
• Tailor teaching methods to address the strengths and needs of all students.
• Evaluate, track, and document students' progress, employing data-driven instructional strategies to enhance teaching and learning.
• Create a secure, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that facilitates student progress.
• Aid in the development and execution of the school's curriculum and course outlines.
• Recognize the importance of promoting literacy and oracy across all lessons.
Whole-School Responsibilities:
• Engage in the development, implementation, and assessment of the school's policies, practices, and procedures to support the school's vision and values, particularly in relation to students' Social and Emotional Wellbeing.
• Participate in the broader school community, including extracurricular activities and events.
• Take part in up to six marketing events during the academic year as required.
• Provide coverage for other teachers upon request.
Specific Division’s Duties
• Teaching load (60m/lesson): Maximum of 18 lessons per week.
• Co-Curricular Activities (CCA): All teachers are expected to conduct two sessions per week (unpaid). Those with stipend responsibilities are required to lead one session per week (unpaid).
• Office Hours: 15:55hrs – 16:40hrs every Tuesday and Thursday.
• Homeroom duty: All teachers are expected to fulfill the HRS (unpaid) role as needed.
• Marketing & Admissions days: Up to six unpaid days to assist with marketing events as necessary.
Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience, and Attributes:
• An internationally recognized teaching qualification.
• Proficient in the language of instruction.
• Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the curriculum in the relevant subject specialism(s).
• Capability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that address student needs.
• Effective classroom management skills, ensuring a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Dedication to continuous professional development and a desire to enhance teaching practices.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the school and its students.
• Alignment with the school's vision, values, and commitment to international education.
