Teacher of General Science

Benenden Bilingual School Guangzhou is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Teacher of General Science for the academic year 2025-2026.

As the Teacher of General Science, you will play a key role in delivering a well-rounded curriculum to all students, striving to maintain high educational standards that promote positive learning outcomes and student success. You will oversee all aspects of teaching and learning while collaborating with a dedicated and professional team of educators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lesson Planning: Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring their academic progress.
• Effective Teaching: Deliver high-quality instruction in your assigned classes, employing various teaching strategies and technologies to inspire and engage students.
• Assessment and Feedback: Timely and accurately assess and grade student assignments in accordance with departmental assessment guidelines. Prepare necessary reports and assign tasks aligned with school expectations.
• Constructive Communication: Provide clear and constructive feedback to students, parents, and caregivers, fostering a supportive educational atmosphere.
• Additional Support: Offer extra assistance to students beyond scheduled lessons to aid in knowledge retention and provide opportunities for further learning. Participate in regular professional development sessions to share best practices.
• Wellbeing Monitoring: Stay attuned to the social-emotional wellbeing of students, tracking their academic progress and guiding them in establishing and achieving appropriate goals.
• Safeguarding and Development: Assist in ensuring the health, safety, and proper behavior of students, contributing to their academic and personal development.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate and report on the academic progress of your assigned group/class, maintaining open communication with parents.
• Effective Parent Communication: Effectively communicate with class parents, providing updates and fostering a collaborative relationship to support student success.

Typical General Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in pedagogy, teacher education, or a related field. Relevant teaching credentials and certifications.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years in K12 education.
• Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge: Strong educational and teaching expertise to support curriculum development and design. Thorough understanding, proficiency, and awareness of the social, emotional, and learning needs of students.
