English Teacher (High School Diploma / IBDP)

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and student-centered English educator who has experience teaching Grades 6–12, specifically in High School Diploma and/or IBDP English. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for literature and language, create engaging learning experiences, and maintain the highest standards of achievement, literacy, and communication skills.

You will be a part of a collaborative department that promotes innovation, reflective practices, and strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English for Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP courses.
  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and academic success.
  • Utilize effective assessment techniques to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and high-achieving students.
  • Create a safe and respectful classroom environment grounded in high expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of curricula, work plans, and departmental resources.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in the broader life of the school, including extracurricular and enrichment programs.
  • Comply with the school’s safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (with a teaching qualification).
  • Valid teaching certification that meets Qatar MOEHE requirements.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP English.
  • Thorough understanding of curriculum frameworks, assessment practices, and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an international, multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and student wellbeing.
