We are currently seeking applications for experienced Secondary ELL Teachers, with positions commencing in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that ignite curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and promote a passion for learning.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that acknowledges individual strengths and diverse learning styles.
• Modify teaching approaches to meet the varied needs of all students, including EAL learners, gifted students, and those requiring additional assistance.
• Incorporate technology and innovative techniques to boost student engagement and enhance learning experiences.
• Assess, document, and communicate student progress effectively, using data to tailor instruction and offer personalized support.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to design and improve IB-aligned curricula, resources, and assessments.
• Engage with the wider school community through co-curricular activities, events, and initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the broader school community to support student development and wellbeing.
• Commit to continuous professional learning and self-assessment to enhance teaching practices.
• Exemplify the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all aspects of school life.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A recognized professional teaching qualification at the degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent in ELL/English specialization.
• A minimum of 3 years of substantial and verifiable experience teaching Secondary ELL, ideally within an IB Curriculum School (though this is not essential).
• Familiarity with MYP and DP is preferred but not required.
• A sincere passion for inspiring young learners through innovative, inquiry-driven teaching.
• The vision, enthusiasm, commitment, and educational philosophy needed to contribute to the ongoing success of a leading flagship GEMS school with a diverse international student population.
• A dedication to professional development and a desire to be part of a collaborative, progressive community.
