Job Overview

To execute the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school's policies and procedures, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment that promotes learning, engagement, and achievement for all students.
Key Responsibilities
•
Lesson Planning, Teaching, and Learning
•
Crafting and executing exceptional teaching and assessment methodologies that align with the school's Teaching & Learning and Assessment policies.
•
Maintaining elevated standards as outlined in the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and encouraging exemplary practices regarding punctuality, conduct, dress code, quality of work, and homework (home learning).
•
Ensure that the curriculum scope and sequence, along with unit and lesson plans, are up-to-date, accurate, and adhere to both IB and school standards.
•
Assessment, Recording, Reporting
•
Assess the degree to which learning objectives are achieved and leverage this data to improve targeted areas of teaching and learning.
•
Consistently evaluate and grade students' assignments, set progress benchmarks, and moderate evaluations in accordance with the school’s Assessment (Marking & Feedback) policy.
•
Diligently assess and document student progress, keep thorough records, and use performance metrics to inform planning, instruction, interventions, and student growth.
•
Compile and present comprehensive reports to parents in line with the Report Writing Guidelines.

Professional Duties and Responsibilities
•
Acknowledge the individual potential of each student and strive to reflect the Dwight vision, mission, and core values in every aspect of the role.
•
For Upper School - Act as an Advisor or Co-Advisor and teach Moral Education.
•
For Upper School - Ensure the FireFly platform is consistently updated with planning and resources, following the direction of the Head of Upper School.
•
Serve as a DP Extended Essay Supervisor / MYP Personal Project Supervisor / PYP Exhibition Supervisor, as needed.
•
Participate in staff duty schedules and provide assistance for absent colleagues.
•
Oversee examinations and assessments as required.
•
Engage in relevant professional development and training related to the role.
•
Contribute to school events and activities, including the ECA program.
•
Actively involve yourself in the Dwight and IB community, building strong relationships with all stakeholders and the local and broader community.
•
Carry out any other reasonable duties and additional work hours as assigned by the Head of School or designated line manager.
