About the School
Vietnam-Australia School, Hanoi (VAS Hanoi) is a bilingual international school offering a dual programme of the Vietnamese National Curriculum alongside the Cambridge Pathway (Checkpoint Primary and Lower Secondary, IGCSE) and Australian Mathematics.

We are seeking a motivated and professional ESL Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be an organised and collaborative educator who can effectively manage teaching responsibilities across multiple curricula while contributing positively to the school community.

About the Role

VAS Hanoi is seeking an experienced, motivated and passionate English teacher to join our Primary Department. The position is offered on a one-year contractual basis, with the potential for further extension.

The successful candidate will teach across Cambridge Grade 2 English and Science and ESL teaching for grade 1 and 5. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development to our Cambridge pathways.

We are looking for a teacher who

  • Creative lesson planning and student-centred teaching approaches.

  • Openness to professional development and new teaching technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage time effectively to balance lesson planning, assessment, and classroom responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan lessons, coordinate learning activities, and support student progress.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet varied student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessment.
  • Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development and school events.
  • Maintain a flexible, proactive, and positive attitude in a dynamic school environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Native-level English speaker. Candidates must possess native-level English proficiency (both written and spoken).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, Teaching License, or Bachelor of Education in Primary)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional teaching experience (post-qualification)
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching ESL learners is highly desirable.
  • Tech-savvy with confidence using Seesaw and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Slides, Drive, etc.).

Desirable

  • Experience in bilingual or international school settings.
  • Basic understanding of how AI tools can support teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
