Part-time Learning Assistant - Foundation Stage (immediate start)
About This Role
Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation is seeking to hire a Part-time Learning Assistant (2 days per week) for an immediate start.
We are in search of a Learning Assistant (LA) to join a collaborative team within a class and year group. The ideal candidate will partner with the class teacher, and ILSA as needed, to foster an engaging learning atmosphere that sparks children's interests and encourages child-led exploration. The LA's role involves interacting with students in a manner that supports their learning while ensuring their care and wellbeing are consistently addressed.
The chosen candidate will actively engage within their designated year group and the broader school community, demonstrating professionalism, involvement, teamwork, and thoughtful reflection on their practices.
Job specification:
- Collaborate with the class teacher and ILSA as necessary.
- Participate in planning and evaluating children's learning.
- Help create stimulating and supportive environments alongside the respective teams, indoors and outdoors.
- Assist with the organization of resources and the classroom.
- Lead and support small group sessions as needed.
- Maintain direct communication with parents of students in their class.
- Contribute to broader school responsibilities when required.
- Take an active role in enhancing personal professional development with guidance from the Year Leader and Line Manager.
Requirements:
- A minimum of A-Level or equivalent (certificate must be MoFA attested).
- A self-aware, reflective, collaborative, and proactive educator.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting children with an inclusive mindset.
- High expectations that inspire students.
- Understanding of child development for ages 0-5 years.
- A passion for play-based and child-led learning.
- Open and approachable, capable of fostering positive communication with parents to build partnerships.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude towards behavior management, wellbeing, and supporting children with SEND.
