About This Role
This is a fantastic exciting opportunity to join the staff of one of the top state grammar schools and lead this core faculty. Achieving outstanding outcomes, and inspiring the next generation of mathematicians, our Mathematics Department is an exceptional place to work. Leading well over two hundred, bright, engaged, and motivated A-level students studying Maths and Further Maths, this is a rare, and exciting opening at our school.
Mathematics is housed in a large, new building offering bright, spacious and well equipped classrooms. The academically selective intake is limited to 150 boys each year and attainment is exceptional across all key stages. In the sixth form, Maths A-level forms a corner stone of the curriculum with the vast majority of Key Stage 5 students choosing to follow Maths to A2.
The Mathematics Department is substantial, comprising ten members of staff, including dedicated support staff, who work hard to provide a rich curricular and extra-curricular experience for their students.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified Head of Mathematics. Sutton Grammar is highly successful, with a focus on academic outcomes, pastoral care, and participation for all. We are now looking for a dynamic and inspirational teacher to lead this department.
We are seeking someone who
Is passionate about sharing their knowledge and love of Maths with our pupils
Employs a creative approach to developing lessons and collaborates effectively with colleagues
Has strong communication skills and is keen to embrace new technologies

The opportunity to work with bright, perceptive and ambitious young people
First class pastoral care with a clear focus on the wellbeing of students and staff alike
