The Head of Boarding is directly responsible for both the daily and long-term organisation, management and, most importantly, leadership of the Boarding programme. The Head of Boarding is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Boarding programme have a student-centred approach that keeps student wellness and growth at the forefront as they provide overall direction and support in pursuit of embedding the Mission, Motto and Strategic Priorities of UWC Thailand in the student experience. The Head of Boarding is a lead role model with respect to promoting our school’s guiding statements as we aim to build a Boarding culture that is warm, supportive and respectful in alignment with UWC Values and the traits of the IB Learner Profile. This includes the need to balance Boarding student voice, agency and growing independence, with guidelines and rules that maintain a high degree of care and safety.
The Head of Boarding will have a 20 to 30% house parent load.
Required Qualifications and Experience
3 - 5+ years of experience working with students aged 12+ in a residential environment is preferred, with knowledge of the organisational and operational practices appropriate to the position, the growth and development of adolescents and young adults, and the legal requirements for the supervision of students
2+ years of formal leadership experience is preferred; demonstrable positive impact is a must
A proven ability to develop and lead talented staff is required
A degree and/or professional teaching qualification is essential
An international driving licence is essential
First Aid and CPR qualifications are desirable
