About This Role

Reach British School is seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic, flexible, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher.

The successful candidate will have the skills to deliver well-organized lessons while offering personalized feedback that adheres to key policies, including Teaching and Learning, feedback practices, and classroom displays. The aim is to foster a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that maximizes student progress and educational success for all. The primary responsibilities include:

1. Crafting and executing teaching and learning activities that correspond with the school’s curriculum and planning (LTPs, MTPs, and STPs) to boost student engagement, understanding, and progress.

2. Ensuring that learning objectives are transparent, appropriate, and consistently recorded by students in their notebooks.

3. Providing a structured lesson format that upholds an effective pace and level of challenge.

4. Making sure all students are aware of their Minimum Target Grades (MTGs) and Aspirational Target Grades (ATGs) for secondary education.

5. Inspiring and challenging every student through effective differentiation tailored to both groups and individuals.

6. Facilitating opportunities for both independent and collaborative learning.

7. Designing engaging homework assignments that reinforce topic comprehension and solidify learning.

8. Offering opportunities for peer and self-assessment to promote educational growth.

9. Effectively managing behavior and resources.

10. Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to personalize learning and enhance classroom motivation.

11. Setting, modeling, and maintaining high expectations consistently.

12. Implementing positive behavior management strategies in line with school policy.

13. Adapting lesson plans to meet the needs of all students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) requirements.

14. Ensuring students are introduced to key terminology at the beginning of each lesson.

15. Adjusting lesson planning to address students’ social, moral, spiritual, and cultural (SMSC) needs while incorporating STEAM and enterprise pathways.

16. Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

AMAR: Academic Monitoring, Assessment, and Reporting

17. Conducting precise summative assessments and moderating results as needed.

18. Effectively utilizing assessment outcomes to evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and identify areas for planning enhancements.

19. Providing students with systematic, meaningful, and personalized feedback on their learning that is age-appropriate.

20. Delivering individualized reports in accordance with the school’s Assessment and Reporting Policy.

Applicants should clearly demonstrate in their application or during the interview:

• At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in the UK or a British Curriculum school.

• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for England and current assessment methodologies.

• Familiarity with data systems, student tracking, intervention strategies, target setting, and assessment reporting.

• A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

• Capability to enhance creative learning and develop innovative educational environments.

• Proficiency in using IT to engage and extend students’ learning experiences.

• Willingness to establish strong partnerships with parents to support student success.

• Ability to collaborate and contribute to whole school initiatives and the school improvement process.

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
