In your role as an ELL teacher, you will play a crucial part in helping students develop the English language skills essential for academic success and social integration within our school community. Your duties will include teaching ELL classes, leading school-wide literacy initiatives, supporting fellow educators, and providing individualized assistance to students in their language acquisition journey.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Designing and delivering lessons aimed at enhancing students' English literacy, focusing on areas such as academic literacy and creative writing.
  • Cultivating meaningful relationships with each student to gain insight into their unique needs and offering personalized support for their English language proficiency.
  • Partnering with classroom teachers to develop effective instructional strategies, share resources, and collaborate on ways to improve the overall English language learning experience.
  • Identifying and prioritizing students needing additional language support and customizing interventions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Keeping detailed records of interventions and regularly tracking student progress to ensure ongoing improvement.
  • Engaging with parents by providing updates on their child's progress and organizing seminars on topics such as guided reading and effective language learning practices to implement at home.
  • Building meaningful relationships with each student to ensure a tailored and successful learning path.
  • Guiding students toward academic success, personal responsibility, and intellectual growth.
  • Committing to continuous professional development by participating in ongoing training, collaborating with peers, and staying updated on the latest educational strategies and best practices in your field.
  • Contributing to a positive and cooperative school environment.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in your subject area (Elementary and Early Education degrees are highly valued for Pre-K through Grade 5).
  • Experience: A minimum of two years serving as a lead teacher in a classroom, which is necessary for this role.
