About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated ECE teacher to provide exceptional early childhood education in a nurturing and culturally responsive environment.


About us


Our centre is a small, family-oriented, well-established early learning centre serving New Lynn and surrounding community. It's been here more than 20 years and is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education where tamariki thrive. We are licensed to teach up to 28 children, aged 2 to 5 years.


About the role


As ECE teacher, you will join a team of passionate educators, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning practices. You will shape the educational experiences of our young learners, strengthen community connections, and work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student learning outcomes.


Provide quality care and education for children as a member of a teaching team. Creating inspiring environments with fun-filled learning experiences for tamariki.


Key responsibilities



  • Lead and mentor a team of teachers, fostering a positive and professional workplace culture.

  • Implement and maintain high-quality early childhood education programmes that align with Te Whāriki.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the local community.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies.

  • Actively contribute to the centre's continuous improvement and professional development initiatives.


What we’re looking for:



  • A NZ qualified and registered ECE teacher with a current practicing certificate.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an ECE setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

  • Long-term reliever (20 hours per week), Monday to Friday.

  • Support and encourage children and their learning.

  • Be able to build positive relationships with the children, whānau and our team.

  • Be dedicated, energetic and fun-loving.
