We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and School Counsellor. This position will remain open until filled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring the welfare of students is prioritized.
- Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with national and local guidelines.
- Provide support and counselling to students facing emotional and psychological challenges, facilitating their well-being.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to promote a safe learning environment.
- Conduct training sessions to raise awareness of safeguarding issues among staff and students.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of safeguarding cases and counselling sessions.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and resilience.
