About This Role

We are expanding our team of British educators at our institution. Consequently, we seek to hire a dynamic and passionate Business Studies teacher to join us in September 2025, who possesses experience in teaching the subject in preparation for (i)GCSE and A level examinations. Candidates must hold a valid UK passport.

The British School Algiers, the premier British international school in Algeria, commenced operations in November 2020 following a partnership agreement between the Algerian and British governments and is now entering its fifth year.

In May 2022, our school received BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation. Due to a surge in demand for student placements, we relocated to new facilities later that same year.

Our institution caters to students aged 4 to 18 years, delivering the English National Curriculum adapted for an international context. Our students undertake Cambridge International IGCSE and A level programs.

Applicants must possess a BEd/PGCE and hold DfE QTS (Department for Education Qualified Teacher Status). Additionally, they should have experience teaching iGCSE and A level Business Studies at either a UK institution or an accredited British international school. We are unable to consider Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for this position.

We are dedicated to fostering outstanding teaching and learning within a nurturing and supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a collaborative spirit, eager to contribute to the development of strong relationships within the school community.

Algiers is a vibrant, welcoming, cosmopolitan city located on the Mediterranean, rich in historical significance and conveniently accessible from the UK and Europe. Teachers enjoy a pleasant lifestyle with a low cost of living, as well as a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Our educators can save a considerable portion of their salary while taking the opportunity to explore Algeria. Most personal and household goods are readily available in Algiers.

You will find our school to be a fulfilling and friendly workplace, where the rapport between staff and students is positive.

Work permits and residency arrangements will be facilitated and funded by the school.

We provide high-quality, furnished accommodation at no rent for staff. Teachers are responsible for utilities such as electricity, gas, water, telephone, and internet, while school lunches are complimentary.
