About This Role

Aldar Academies is looking for a Teacher - English to join Bateen World Academy starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

As a distinguished establishment, the school provides the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from FS1 to Year 6, and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) in Years 12 and 13, offering a cohesive educational journey from FS1 through Year 13, integrating the finest elements of PYP, UK, and IB pathways.

Key Tasks

Delivering engaging lessons that motivate students to excel and achieve optimal outcomes is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating effectively with colleagues

• Partnering with fellow educators to design engaging lessons that align with the curriculum

• Maintaining professional communication with colleagues and demonstrating flexibility

• Collaborating with parents to ensure the happiness and academic success of all students

• Working cooperatively with support staff (when applicable) to enhance student development

• Serving as a form tutor and attending to the pastoral needs of students.

A. Teaching and Learning

• Comprehensive understanding of the British curriculum

• Organizing classroom resources and creating displays that foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere

• Planning, preparing, and delivering sessions that address the diverse needs of all students in the classes taught

• Inspiring pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching

• Observing and assessing students in accordance with the school's assessment policy

• Reflecting on classroom provision, teaching sessions, progress made, and making necessary adjustments to the environment, planning, and curriculum

• Ensuring the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are incorporated throughout the curriculum.

B. Assessment and Data

• Taking responsibility for the progress of the classes taught

• Meeting the requirements for assessing and documenting students' development using the school's designated assessment system

• Utilizing data from assessments to inform future planning, provision, and intervention

• Providing parents and guardians with feedback on student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

C. Behaviour Management and Duties

• Adhering to the school's Behaviour Policy

• Effectively managing classes using approaches tailored to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them

• Maintaining excellent relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school's Behaviour Policy

• Serving as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students

• Upholding high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners

• Ensuring the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum

• Carrying out assigned duties in accordance with the school's policies.

D. Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Collaborating as part of a departmental team, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to the team

• Assisting in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and activities that may occur on weekends or evenings

• Effectively communicating with parents/guardians regarding students' achievements and well-being, utilizing school systems/processes such as CPOMS when appropriate

• Contributing positively to the broader life and ethos of the school

• Leading a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Education or a Bachelor's degree in a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

• At least 2 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

• Exceptional teaching abilities

• Experience teaching across the full age and ability range with proven success

• Experience in more than one International School is desirable

• Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum

• Strong interpersonal skills

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
