About This Role

Aldar Academies is looking for a Teacher of Drama to join Bateen World Academy starting in August 2026.

Situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi, Bateen World Academy is a renowned institution within a lively community. This esteemed school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from FS1 through Year 6, as well as the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) for Years 12 and 13. This structure provides a comprehensive educational experience from FS1 to Year 13, blending the finest elements of PYP, UK, and IB curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver exceptional teaching and learning in accordance with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy.
- Foster an engaging learning environment that promotes exemplary teaching practices.
- Establish clear teaching and learning goals, setting specific targets that build on students’ prior achievements.
- Recognize students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted & Talented (G&T) backgrounds, ensuring their requirements are met through tailored differentiation.
- Develop structured lesson plans and learning activities that maintain engagement, pace, and challenge.
- Utilize performance data and key metrics effectively to inform lesson planning and provide differentiated instruction.
- Integrate ICT tools to enhance learning outcomes and student progress.
- Uphold discipline as per the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy, promoting punctuality, appropriate behavior, and high standards in work and homework.
- Evaluate the extent to which learning objectives have been met and leverage this information to enhance teaching strategies.
- Assess and mark student work bi-weekly, setting progress targets following the school's Marking Policy.
- Systematically record and assess student progress, utilizing performance data to inform planning and support student learning.
- Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies, departmental guidelines, and school protocols.
- Participate in and support events involving parents and students.
- Engage in subject development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
- Stay current with subject knowledge through continuous professional development and scholarly reading.
- Contribute to the school's Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) Programme by leading or supporting after-school programs in the Drama and Music department, including school performances (note: ECA does not include I/GCSE and IB DP Revision/Booster Sessions).
- Lead and/or assist in school development initiatives.
- Collaborate and communicate with external agencies and other educational institutions as required.
- Serve as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13 students.
- Fulfill duties as part of the staff duty rota and provide coverage for absent colleagues.
- Supervise examinations as needed, supporting the Examinations Officer and the Summer Examination Schedule.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Drama with PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Minimum Experience:

- Newly Qualified Teacher Status (NQTS).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
